We are closing out 2016 with a bang. Come join us at Taos Ski Valley and get in on the action of New Year’s Eve. Here’s your guide to do it right:
9:00am – 4:00pm: Get out on the slopes
We can’t think of any better way to spend the last day of 2016 than hitting the slopes. Get out there and enjoy the best terrain New Mexico has to offer. Not to mention that the weather forecast is predicting snow. So scratch that first part, even better than spending that last day of 2016 hitting the slopes is spending the last day of 2016 hitting the slopes on a powder day.
4:00pm – 5:30pm: Check out our après scene
After all the powder skiing and boarding you’ll be in need of a hot bowl of chili and a cold brew. Head up to the Martini Tree Bar for good vibes and live music by local band Mirror Travel who hit the stage at 4:30, or make your way to the Stray Dog Cantina for a delicious fresh lime margarita.
5:30pm – 6:30pm: The Grand Spectacle
Laser light show? Fireworks? Torchlight parade? End 2016 with a bang, literally, starting at 5:30. With a good view from anywhere at the base area, you will witness a stellar show including lasers, amazing fireworks, and a parade of skiers carrying torchlights wind down Snakedance. You don’t see this everyday….
5:00pm – 9:00pm: The last dinner of 2016
Time to chow down! Take your pick of our on-mountain restaurants, but make sure you make a reservation first. Rhoda’s set dinner starts at 5:15 and includes some tasty treats like candied Jalapeno Turkey Bacon and smoked bison spare Rib, to name a few. Call (575) 776-2005 for reservations. The Blonde Bear and St. Bernard will also be serving dinners. You can’t make a wrong choice no matter where you go!
9:00pm – 12:00am: Dance the year out
This is what you’ve been waiting for! The final countdown to 2017. Get groovy for the final hours of the year! The St. Bernard will have live music by Big Swing Theory, a local Taos jazz band. The Bavarian is also open for party goers starting at 10pm with a $10 cover charge and music by the Two Shot Blues Band.
